RICCARDO CAMBRI, pianist, vocal coach, accompanist, writer and music critic, is a man who wears many hats. Dedicated to his art, he is immensely proud and appreciative of the great Italian musical heritage that is his birthright. For many years, Riccardo Cambri has run the Bel Canto Orvieto festival, working alongside Marsha Anderson, Laura Toppetti, and many other visiting teachers who offer master classes.
He is not only a sensitive accompanist, but also a brilliant concert pianist, having played Beethoven's Piano Concerto in B flat major, Op. 19, and Mozart's Piano Concerto in d minor, K. 466 with the Symphonic Orchestra of Perugia under the direction of Giuliano Silveri. He has played many solo recitals throughout Italy and Europe.
A much-requested coach and accompanist to many singers, he often plays recitals for soprano Isabel Gentile, baritone Roberto Abbondanza, Marsha Anderson, and Laura Toppetti, in addition to playing public masterclasses throughout Europe.
He is also the principal piano instructor at the Luigi Mancinelli School of Music in Orvieto, and writes music critiques and articles for several Italian newspapers and online journals.
Born in Orvieto, he began his musical studies at a very young age in his native city, and continued his studies in Perugia with Maestro Riccardo Marini. Riccardo has won a number of Italian Piano Competitions, including Torre Orsaia 1993, San Gemini 1994, Genzano in Rome 1995, and San Giovanni Valdarno 2001.
In 1995 he attended the Mozarteum in Salsburg, Austria and was a finalist in the famous Akademie-Konzert. In 1998 he received the Diploma for Advanced Studies in Piano from the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He continues to grow as a musician by attending Master Classes taught by well-known Italian pianists, such as Antonio Ballista, Franco Scala and Leonid Margarius.
An exceptional pianist and vocal coach, a patient but demanding teacher, and a marvelous colleague, we are fortunate to have Riccardo on our team to teach you the real "stile all'italiana."
